Alstom is Norway's largest exporter of environmental technology -did you know that some of the world's leading experts in cleaning fumes from aluminium smelters and oil/coal-fired power plants are found in Skøyen in Oslo? Aluminium plants in many lands, including Brazil, India, UAE and New Zealand, solve their challenges regarding emissions (and at the same time recover valuable raw material) with technology from Alstom. We deliver environmental control systems which prevent acid rain across the globe, among others, in China, Malaysia, Chile, and Great Britain. Here at home, we were chosen as a supplier of the CO2 -capture test facility at Mongstad -- Norway's "moon landing".
Alstom is, in addition, a world leader in products and services for hydropower production. In Norway, we have delivered over 80 percent of the nation's hydropower generators. Alstom's technology center in Grenoble is the world's largest laboratory for hydropower turbines and is important in providing effective and reliable turbines also in Norway.
